Monthly Archives: December 2011
It’s that time again! Tomorrow, Friday December 2nd, SCS will be having the Parent/ Teacher Coffee Time for Elementary, Secondary, and Preschool parents. Later this month, we are going to recognize honor roll students. For the first time, SCS will be giving out window decals to enable parents to display their child’s achievement for everyone to see. This is the first time SCS has given out window decals and we would like to get parent input on the design. This Friday, come to share some coffee and snacks with us and put your vote in for the best honor roll student window decal!
This week the SCS chapter of the National Honor Society held an induction ceremony for secondary students. These students achieved this honor by maintaining a 3.5 GPA, demonstrating leadership through community service, and exemplifying upstanding character and integrity. Congratulations to all of the National Honor Society members! SCS is proud of you.
Come join us to celebrate the birth of Christ through music! Southlands elementary and high school choirs will be performing over the next few days in celebration of our Lord Jesus. We would love to have you come out and support our music groups this Christmas season!

This is a wonderful time of the year. Along with the opportunity to sing at the Christmas musical on Thursday, December 15th, our preschoolers are performing “The Story of Christmas” on Friday, December 16th at 7:00 pm. Each classroom will be presenting the story of Jesus’ birth. The teachers are making beautiful backdrops and the children will perform through theater and song. Following the play there will be time for parents to take pictures of their children in their costumes, and holiday refreshments will be served. Invite Grandma and Grandpa and family for this performance, they will not want to miss this year’s memorable holiday cheer.
